From 12 June 2017 one of the independent PIP assessment providers – Atos Healthcare – is changing the business name they use for PIP work. The new name is Independent Assessment Services. The process has not changed, nor the staff working for Independent Assessment Services – just the business name and identity.

Claimants are not affected by the name change and should continue to attend assessment appointments and respond to communications from Atos Healthcare and Independent Assessment Services. Assessment centre locations and contact numbers are not affected by this name change.

The signage at Assessment Centres and supply chain partners’ estate will be changed to say ‘Independent Assessment Services’ between 12 June 2017 and 12 July 2017. Atos Healthcare staff on the telephone and at assessment centres will introduce themselves as ‘Independent Assessment Services’.

The attached  “Guide for Stakeholders” provided by Independent Assessment Services is in relation to their name change and the introduction of their new claimant communications. This document should pre-empt any questions that may come your way from your clients around this name change.

As you will see the document represents the look and feel of the new name, Independent Assessment Services, given that your clients could potentially receive a letter in the old name, Atos Healthcare, followed by a letter carrying the new name – this document will answer any questions that may come up.
