Let the good times (and the RNA minibus) roll

The Royal Naval Association (RNA) owns three disabled access minibuses, situated across the UK, for the exclusive use of RNA members and other associated organisations. The buses are free to borrow, and last week, RNA member Natasha Mason used the Plymouth based bus to take her disabled Dad on a short break.

Natasha said:

“During my service my parents stepped and supported me, enabling me to bring up my son and serve in the Royal Navy.  Then, five years ago, Dad became paralysed. This time I stepped up to support him and mum. I do everything possible to give them their best life.”

Natasha organised a trip to Center Parcs for her parents, who needed to be accompanied by Natasha and two personal care assistants. Natasha also has mobility issues of her own.

Natasha said:

“The amount of equipment we need to take is vast including my mobile scooter and all our luggage. We are forever grateful for the use of the RNA minibus.”

The RNA minibuses are maintained by a grant from The Seafarers’ Charity and operate out of Plymouth, Portsmouth and Manchester.
